INSPECTION
provides Toxic Mold Surveys that are a visual non-intrusive examination
of a building designed to identify areas suspect
to moisture intrusion ("Red Flags") that may be
conducive to microbial growth. The intent of this survey is to explain
a scientifically developed hypothesis regarding the conditions of the
suspect property. Inital screening of this hypothesis involves the use
of a MetOne laser particle counter. This cutting-edge tchnology measures
aerosolized particulate size (click
here to see various contaminant sizes) by drawing a measured
amount of air through an intake and giving instant readings, by diameter,
of levels of contamination. This assists to confirm those areas (if
any) in need of microbial sampling. Our mold survey is ideal for home
and building owners and tenants that experience mold sensitivities such
as sinusitis, asthma, chronic fatigue, headaches and more, or are concerned
about these indoor air quality issues. What do "red flags"
look like? Click

INSPECTION's
survey is also ideal for those individuals that feel that they may have
particular sensitivities and are planning to purchase or lease a new
property to live in. It is imperative to do a complete survey of this
potential investment before finalizing a deal.
Consultation with individuals who are building new homes is the best
insurance one can provide. Using the newest technologies and materials
available helps prevent molds from starting in the homes to begin with.
Our Surveys Include:
- Thermal Infrared Imaging for moisture intrusion detection & energy audits
- Analysis of all exterior
grade, landscape, and drainage conditions that impact the dwelling
- Revealing all sources of water penetration
- Uncovering all sources of water formation
- "Red Flag"
identification
- Analysis of the Heating,
Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems
- Analysis of plumbing
water supply and waste systems
- Interior Finishes and Fixtures
- Surveying of roof, gutter and downspout systems
We provide an online
reporting system with complete digital photography
detailing all identified "red
flag" conditions and potential sources of microbial
activity that is available to you 24 hours/day x 7 days/week making
recommendations for microbial sampling if necessary to prove our
original hypothesis. (click

A
"Red Flag"
is defined as evidence of the potential presence of mold based on one
or more of the following criteria: (1) Visible mold-like substance,
(2) the presence of moisture, (3) areas as determined by a survey/surveyor
to be suspect to moisture intrusion and fungal growth, (4) reported
sensitivity to conditions such as, but not limited to odor and/or dampness
inside the building (5) the suspicion of mold presence by the occupant
or an occupants complaint of negative health effects commonly or possibly
linked to mold exposure.

INSPECTION
utilizes state-of-the-art equipment during the course of this investigation
including; infrared thermographic photography, laser particle counters, surface and subsurface moisture
meters, humidity and dew-point meters, air flow meters, flexible borescopes
for seeing inside wall cavities, and digital still and High Definition video as necessary.
What are the benefits of thermography to the property owner? Property owners are rightly concerned about two major things: physical protection of the property and the health and satisfaction of their employees, tenants or family members. Water damage can lead to deterioration of the property, and the cost of repairs can escalate with time. Mold can adversely affect the health of the occupants, resulting in a host of problems, including the loss of a tenant. Therefore, it is wise to use the best technology available to locate, restore and remediate any such issues. Property owners who hire restorers trained to properly use IR technology receive a more thorough and accurate investigation of water and moisture problems. California's enormous energy costs also make a thorough review and thermographic scan of the building envelope a wise decision to eliminate areas where condition air may escape.
